Quite often there are concepts in every day life that apply to more than just one aspect of the things that are most important to you.

As an example – there are many lessons that I’ve learned in the fitness business that I carry over into my personal fitness and nutrition routine.

One of these basic lessons has been like gold to me and I’m sure it will help you as well.

A few years ago I started keeping a short list of five questions that I would answer, from scratch, every 6 to 8 weeks or so. As simple as this exercise might sound – it has helped me stay focused and clear on my goals and my true intentions – this is priceless.

Before I started doing this – I found that I would unintentionally ‘drift off course’ – or easily get sidetracked from a major project or milestone – delaying my results or painfully prolonging any progress.

Since I started doing this – my business, my fitness and all areas of my life have improved…

And on that note I thought it would be a great idea to set up several questions that you can keep referring to every few months to help keep you focused and moving toward your goals in terms of your specific body improvement & physical enhancement desires.

Help yourself by taking a minute to answer these critical questions by clicking below on ‘COMMENTS’ just below this article – and feel free to copy and print these for your own use at home or at the office:

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?

I look forward your answers and will do anything I can to help you reach your goals and the body you desire…

1. The inside of my thighs are gross. On top of the excess fat, I now have so much loose skin.
2. They make me feel depressed, because no matter how much I exercise they will not firm up, nor can I lose them.
3. If I could wave a wand, I’d get rid of my inner thighs. I’m not happy with my hips either. I work very hard to rid of it, but it won’t go.
4. I would feel good about myself if I could lose my inner thighs and that pinch an inch from my hips.
I’d love to be in a bathing suit and not feel uncomfortable or wear shorts and not tug at them.
5. Since March 18th, I’ve been doing cardio/weighs/ab/norda track every morining for anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes………..NADA. Infact I’ve gained 12 lbs.!!!!!!!

5) I willing to give up 35 daily to have a better mid section… I’m willing to try it, I have lost hope that this will happen, I’ve tried but no result, but i like to exercise but i think i need guidance with it…

1. Losing muscle tone, thighs too big, glutes need toning and increase in size. Visually totally out of shape
there. Also have a spear tire on my lower part.
2. Embarrassed.
3. Goal trimmer thighs, rounded & bigger glutes. I would wear more form fitting jeans, shorts, fitted jersey dresses. My bathing suits would not require a skirt part or shorts.
4. I would feel complete.
5. Joey, I have the Dvd’s from you, my problem is inconsistancy. But if you can tell me what to do. I’ll do it.
Whatever it takes, I will become consistant & devote whatever amount of time I need.

Hi Joey

Here are my answers…. no doubt they are the stock standard ones you hear all the time!!!

1. My butt, legs, stomach and arm are my worst areas. Since having children 5 yrs ago I have ballooned to a size I wouldn’t say is the best looking at all (put on 25kgs).
2. Old, depressed, ugly
3. I still would like to be curvy but with a 5ft 1inch height alot more in proportion would be great. Slimmer legs a definate!!
4. Confidence would be great. My relationship with my husband would improve as I don’t feel sexy at all and this is affecting my time with him.
5. 30 mins every other day to start of with as I have a family and I am studying. I am aiming to go out in the morning for a long walk every day though.

Thanks
Monika

My worst problem spots are the tops of my legs, they are bigger than my hips and it is hard to get pants to fit me right in the hips, legs and waist. They are very embarassing especially when bathing suit time rolls around and I am wearing a skirt bathing suit instead of a straight one piece or a two piece. I would like to be able to firm up from my waist down and be able to feel confident about my looks. I am told alot that I have a small waist, but I believe it is because of my wide hips and legs. I walk 3.7 miles five days a week and have started carrying three lb. weights to maybe help speed up my metabolism. I have started doing some of the free lower body exercises that you sent out on the e-manual.

Hi Joey!

I’m happy to answer these 5 five questions.

1. worst problem spots are my butt / hips / thighs. all my weight goes there. i have a small waist, a thin torso–my lower body just seems totally out of proportion. and, the dreaded, cellulite! gross!

2. makes me feel frustrated cause it seems like no matter how thin i get or how “in shape” i feel, the butt and thighs are still flabby and dimply. and make me feel really heavy.

3. if i could wave a magic wand, my butt and thighs would be one size smaller, more in proportion to my upper half, and FIRM! tired of things shaking around when i walk and tired of the cellulite look. i could finally walk around the beach and go to pool parties without trying to hide my butt.

4. i would feel confident and happy and peaceful!

5. i’m willing to spend around 35-45 minutes every other day.

PS–just started the dvd and i LOVE it!!! best at home workout i’ve ever done and i have tried them all–you’re a god-send!!!!!!

thanks so much,
Jamie

I don’t want to look at myself dressed or undressed. I want to look the way I did when I was teens through 35. My body is 10 times the sized I was back then, bloated, dimpled and I can’t get into normal clothes. When you take a phot from the side all you see is huge arms; when you take a photo of my face, all you see is six chins. My torso all melds together — huge belly, huge butt. My thighs look like the skin has given up, which is also sagging and dimpled — my knees (need I say more). My skin is dry and tight and overall I feel miserable, disgusted and hopeless. I am 51, is this all there is to life buying products that don’t work because they’re too convoluted? While I realize changes need to be made because obviously what I’m doing now is not working and the body is metamorphising — does it have to be this hard?

All this being said, I need a new body! Tight and toned with soft unblemished skin and a feeling of lightness. With what I know now, I want to have my young body back again and keep it that way. I want to be sexy, revitalized and desired. :o)

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective? Those darn thighs that have been out of proportion since puberty. For a long while I went through the I’m taller and bigger than the other girls and having a bad body view to realizing by college that I looked fine but I still hated everything below the belly button and above the knee.

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…? Embarassed, sometimes like an object depending on the situation…certain cultures find all that meat sexy, angry, overwhelmed

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…? It would certainly mean no more log legs and avoidance of swimsuits or shorts. I wouldn’t have to appear to be confident like all the others on vacation but would be confident because I’m healthy and toned. I’d get more interest than those bottom heavy chasers and less time at the cleaners getting my pants altered so that they don’t gap so much in the waist just to fit over my logs the correct way. I’d also be able to not need to get seperates but suits because there wouldn’t be 2-3 size differences between jackets and pants.

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…? Relaxed, attractive, grateful

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…? I’ve been devoting about 30-40 minutes a day but definitely could be more consistent. I can feel the difference and see the inches but it’s not the dramatic remake that would satisfy me.

1. I work out consistently most of the time, been going to the gym or home working for years, been doing your thighs make-over for almost 2 months now, and my legs and butt look strong and fit, but still can´t get rid of some some fat and stubborn cellulite, also don´t like having some belly fat I can´t get rid of although I eat very healthy and exercise at lest 3 times a week, your legs work out, weight lifting for my upper body and interval training one or two times a week.
2. Self-concious and insecure, a little bit frustrated sometimes.
3 & 4 . I would love to see my thighs free of cellulite, my butt hard as a rock but still feminine, I have a latin body and I love it, don´t want to loose my shapes, I want to be able to walk or run wearing my bikini at the beach without worryin if the sun is striking directly , because if it is, forget it, I hide sitting on my towel until mid afternoon (because my legs look with a cheesy texture)!!! I want to wear my shorts at the gym during summer, now I would feel too self-conscious. I really feel quite happy about the way I look but reaching my goals will make me feel sexier, younger and more confident.
5. I work out 1 hour at the gym so a 30-40 minutes routine for my legs is perfect, so I can combine with my upper body routine or with the cardio work.

1. My ‘biggest’ problem areas are my stomach and thighs. My stomach reminds me of a bowl of gelatin. After giving birth to three children in as many years I am having a difficult time getting my stomach into any semblance of order. My thighs are pretty much the same though it is mainly my inner thighs. The rest are toned really nicely.

2. I do not have a real problem with my thighs apart from when I wear a dress and they rub together “ouch”. My stomach does make me feel embarrassed a lot because some people assume that I am pregnant.

3. If I could wave a magic wand I would trim down my inner thighs to match the rest of my legs. I would be smoking in shorts and skirts. Whistles!

4. Toning up my inner thighs would make me feel strong and empowered.

5. I currently spend at least an hour a day in the gym trying to address my problem areas. I am not finding much success. I haven’t even lost a pound after two months and I am beginning to feel discouraged.

4.Definately empowered, confident and very much grateful.
5. I can devote 35minutes daily.

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?

Answer: Probably the mid (lower part of the abdomen), my bum (butt cheeks) and legs in general!

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?

Answer: Trying to get rid of cellulite is one thing and having enough time to get rid of it is another. If I could guarantee results I would be motivated to make time to spend shaping my legs and thighs and losing some weight. It makes me feel angry and embarrased; I always wear my jacket outside to buy things (even though the temp is 38 C)? People look @ me like she’s crazy but that’s just how insecure and uncomfortable I am!

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?

Answer: I would have it cellulite free, toned (like an athlete, gymnastics etc…) and a big butt like J.Lo. It would mean no worries about who’s looking what to wear and if there’s anything jiggling around for people to look at!

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?

Answer: I wouldn’t take so long in morning getting dressed because I’m trying to find an outfit that will cover my butt and stomach! I wouldn’t be ashamed to wear nice clothes for my husband, to work, to church or just casually…it would a great big of a difference!

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?

Answer: I could spend up 60 mins a day 7/days a week to make this happen!

1. Definitely my lower body. I have a smaller upper body with a small waist and a larger bottom. Which, by the way I don’t mind having. I like my curves, they make me feel sexy, like a woman. But, here’s the ugly part…THE CELLULITE! That is my worst problem.

2. I feel very self-conscious about my thighs. I don’t wear shorts or dresses that are too short because I feel like my thighs look so gross. It makes me feel like “the fat girl”.

3. If I could wave a magic wand I would lose the cellulite and firm up my thighs and butt. I would feel 100% more confidant and would be able to wear the cute little short shorts that my boyfriend loves. Hey…I could just wear shorts period! It makes me feel bad that I am so self-conscious about my lower body that I can’t wear fun, sexy things. I would just love to get dressed and feel condidant in whatever it was that I put on.

4. I would feel so confidant, sexy, and more outgoing. I avoid doing things like going out on the water with friends because I don’t want anyone to see my thighs. It would definitely change my life.

5. I would devote an hour to working out. I like to do cardio for 30 minutes and then do strength training for 30 minutes. But I don’t know if that is enough of exercise or how many days a week I should work out.

Hi Joey,

1. My worst areas would be my thighs and stomach. I have skinny legs until my thighs, I carry the weight on my inner and outer thighs. I’ve had three kids and in the last couple of years my stomach has lost any firmness it had.
2. I don’t look in the mirror if I don’t have to. I hate trying on new clothes as nothing feels right or looks right. I feel very unattractive and depressed.
3. If I could wave a magic wand over my lower body I would love to have a toned stomach and lifted butt and toned thighs. I would feel more confident and no longer worry what people were thinking.
4. I would like to feel that my husband would be proud to stand next to me.
5. I am willing to devote 35 -70mins a day if I could acheive these results.

4 – Confident, sexy.. my boyfriend loves me no matter what and he sees nothing wrong with me, but I know that if it were to be fixed (and if I had an exercise that worked and that didnt take an hour of my day-becaue I dont have that-) it would make me extremely happy!

1 – i’m bottom heavy. hips, behind, thighs and stomach are too large and unmuscled.

2 – well, unhappy….cause i can remember how they looked when i was 25 lbs lighter. not necessarily discouraged, cause i know i can be back in an 8 again. it’s just the getting there…

3 – i’m 5’9 and shortwaisted, so i have pretty long legs, 45 inches from crotch to foot. i’ve never had visible muscles in my behind or thighs, even as a teen, so i’d love to see that. also, i’d like a muscled stomach again, but, at 49, i’m dealing with what is sometimes called a mena-pot, so i have very little hope of getting rid of that little extended lower belly short of a tummy tuck. getting the weight off and the lower body toned would mean i could wear my bikinis again and get into that size 8 again mentioned above.

4 – i’d start buying clothes again. i haven’t bought anything new since i gained this weight. i live in tights and t-shirts. i’m usually 135-140. right now i’m stuck at 165. i have come down since february from 188, so that makes me feel pretty good.

5 – i already do a 40 min rapid walk and another 20-30 min bodyweight workout right after that 4-6 days a week. i’ve been stuck at 165, tho, for at least a month. i’ve been doing the lower body toning you sent out in pdf a few weeks ago and i really love it.

Katherine said,

Wow, good questions.
1. The avalanche of fat on my entire body. It’s all bad. I don’t have a favorite fat section to attack. After I quite smoking in 1991 (yay), I went from size 6 to size 26. Now I’m down to a 20. I can’t seem to break past size 20 in spite of excellent food and exercise. My thyroid is fine.

2. Fear, shame, frustration, hopeless, social pariah. I feel like it’s nevah gonna happen. Strangers feel free to come up to me in the street, at events, where ever, and say horrible things about my being fat or to tell me what to do to fix it. When I was thin, I never would have believed people would do such a thing, but I’ve experienced a whole side of human beings I don’t want to experience anymore. I just can’t believe the things slender people say to fat people. Even Carlos Mencia jokes about us and he’s a little chubster himself!!! I feel unattractive to my husband, who, God love him, never says a word about how I look except to tell me I’m beautiful and he loves me. I hate to go out in public. I feel horrified when I ride my scooter and see this fat lady reflected in the shop windows and can’t believe it’s me. I feel a loss of identity. I feel like my fat makes me unacceptable. I fear for my health.

3. My goal is slenderness, my former size and maybe smaller, as I was a bit chubby at size 6, and I want that slenderness for my entire body, not just the bottom, as I have rolls on my back and wings under my arms. With my magic wand, I’d be slender and taut, bony knees, ankles, feet, wrists and hands, see my cheekbones again, have a neck again, have comfortable calves instead of the skin being stretched so tight it’s uncomfortable. I’d still dress pretty much the same, but with much smaller clothes. I would actually wear my short shorts outside instead of just for working out in private and feel pretty. Sex would be a whole lot more fun and have more options. Smaller bras. I’d lose a whole area of problems that have to do with fat – having to take care of the fat, thinking about the fat, getting rid of the fat, feeling frustrated to see it still there, negative commentary from others, tight airline seats, not being able to reach my knees because of the pillow of fat on my stomach, feeling tired from dragging all this flab around. I’d feel attractive in sleeveless tops instead of just comfortable. I would feel better about how I look in short skirts. My feet, ankles and knees would thank me. I’d be able to see my ankle bones, my knee bones. I could wear bracelets without fearing I wouldn’t be able to get them back off. I could wear women’s watches and have them fit. The image I have of myself would match what I see in the mirror. I’ve been fat for years and I still feel startled to see a fat woman in the mirror.

4. Light! Like I’m free of a 120 pound backpack of flab. Free. Easier to ride my bike, do yoga, go mountain climbing, do the Joey workouts. No more social stigma. Sexy. Healthy. No more mandatory shorts under my skirts to keep my thighs from chafing!!!. Easier and lighter to pack with skinny clothes. Easier to buy clothes. I chafed big holes right through the thighs of all my linen pants in Ireland and to my horror could not find anything even close to my size to replace them and ended up having to buy and wear a skin tight stretch skirt many sizes too small for the rest of the trip, again, eliciting fat comments. And they only had one of those skirts. I wanted to climb under a rock.

5. This varies from a few hours or even a full day, to something as brief as the dvd workout that you gave out with your book, and some days I don’t work out at all. Some people are very consistent at everything they do, some are marathoners who take big breaks in between. I’m the latter type and have trouble being consistent on a daily basis with exercise, though I’m much better than I used to be. I might do a 14 mile loop for groceries by bicycle with my cart one day; a short 5 mile bike loop if I’m low energy, 10 miles for an average one; a bike ride or hike plus a workout dvd; a 3 to 6 mile walk by itself; dvd only of some type, either one of the joeys or yoga; skip some days and do nada. For the most part, I’m pretty active, and I can’t believe the fat isn’t just falling off. I feel like I have to do 5 times what other people do just to make the tiniest amount of progress.

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?

After the birth of my first son I began to notice that I had strechmarks not only on my stomach but also on my hips, inner thighs, buttocks and the back of the thighs, that all the sudden were non destinctive from my butt! With all this extra skin I find that although I have good muscle tone you can’t see it. The part I hate the most is on the back of my right thigh I have this wierd pouch of cellulite and yes I mean pouch! that hangs there all dimply despite 3 years of going to the gym and I mean regularly. (up to 5 days a week for 1.5 hours per day) I can run 3 consecutive 9 minute miles! I feel fit! But don’t feel my body reflects it. I have even gone so far as too have a buttlift where they removed some of the excess skin and still that pouch I hate so much is THERE! and now my butts not so hangy however it is shaped oddly because I don’t have any “junk in my trunk” my buttocks are firm at the top which doesn’t match the fact that they are flat at the bottom. Sighhhh, what more can I say…..

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?

At times I feel defeated and others I feel ashamed that this is my physical being. I don’t feel that I look they way I do. I worry sometimes that someone will notice all my strech marks and wonder to myself what will they think of me? And I can’t bear it at times so I cry and I try to cover up wearing pants or long shorts, (boy was I glad they came back in style!) but then that makes me unhappy too because you can still see my weird cellulite pouch through them. Defeated again! And then comes the anger and the why me???? Sighhhhh, back to the gym….

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?

My hope would be to have a lower body as it was intended to be. Strong, lean, curvey, toned buttocks and thighs would be two different parts of my body instead of blending as one. I often wonder what it would be like to look into the mirror and like what I see for a change, while in reality I avoid the mirror as much as possible. I guess what I am saying is that if I had my ideal lower body, I wouldn’t have to wonder anymore what it feels like to love what I see in the mirror. And my husband, God bless him! wouldn’t have to hear his wife constanly put herself down and all the other junk that comes from a distorted body image.

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?

I’m not sure what it would feel like really but I image that there would be a sense of being at peace with my body. A sense of accomplishment for not giving up when it was hard to push forward and keep trying new things. Triumph!

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?

I would be willing to put in as much time as it took! But realisticly, 90 minutes 5 times a week is about what I can manage into my schedule at the moment. Thanks Joey! That was pretty cleansing all in itself!

If I had a wand would use it from tummy to thighs and make it all disaapear.
I have lost 40 lbs since July of 07 but want to tighten all up now.

Feel ugly not attractive in those areas.

Would give 30 minutes a day for a miracle.

1. When i look in the full mirror, i see cellulite and a saggy butt cheeks with dent ions. I am tall and at a good weight so clothes are not a problem, but shorts and swim suites i buy long or skirt-like.
2. how does my problem areas make me feel? Old. I wonder with frustration if all the healthy foods are really worth it. Dr Peppers are my weakness.
3. My magic wand would smooth out and tighten my skin, something that liposuction can fix but to expensive. I would like to walk around and know that it is because it’s good looking and not OMG she needs to hide that crater!
4. How would i feel after problems are fixed? EXCITED and ready to go shopping. I would let my husband know it is okay to touch me in bed! Cant believe i just said that. Felt like a million bucks.
5. How much would i put in working? From January till April i was working out everyday, rotating upper body on days 1-3-5 and lower body on days 2-4, putting in 30 minutes and sometimes up to 1 1/2 hours. It really became addiction for me. But now 45 minutes twice a week if i am lucky, because i am Bord and no set goals.

I’m with many of you….I teach aerobic classes 3x weekly and plan for them to be interval type classes as i LOVE interval training!!! HOWEVER…although I am more fit than ever before my worst area…would LOVE to CHOP it off…is my inner thighs…always has been!!! I try strength training exercises both compound AND isolated but no luck. It actually angers me!!!
If I could wave a magic wand my body would look like a well sculpted statue….lower body would have a bit less loose skin and the inner thigh jiggles would be GONNERS!!! I’d feel amazing, sexy and satisfied with my efforts!
Timewise…I throw workouts in on my own when I can twice a week and teach 4 classes. I like to be IN-tense and OUT!!! The shorter the time period the better for my OWN days. I LOVE working out outside!!!

3) Not so many curves and smooth skin and tighten legs and tummy.

I’d love to be in a bathing suit and not feel uncomfortable or wear shorts and not tug at them.
5) I willing to give up 35 daily to have a better mid section… I’m willing to try it, I have lost hope that this will happen, I’ve tried but no result, but i like to exercise but i think i need guidance with it…
Thanks for listening.

I think my self esteem would improve, and I would feel like my time has not been wasted. About an hour maybe hour and a half a day. Shouldn’t that be enough? Hi Joey!
My problems are not so much visible to others as to myself. i’m 47 (plz don’t be put off by my age, i don’t look my age) . i had 2 cesareans 20 & 21 years back. my dimensions are 32, 27, 36. i need to bring my waist to 25 & increase my bust size too. although my butts are 36, which is quite a respectable size, but they dont look 36. i BADLY need to make them look rounder and sexy.

this problem doesnt make me feel angry, depressed or embarassed etc but i do want to feel more confident.

it had not mattered really when i was young, but now ,YES, it does.

of course my improved butt would make me feel more SEXY and CONFIDENT.

i go to the gym 6 days a week and spend 1.5 hrs daily. briefly, my routine is: (chest+triceps+lower abs, back+biceps+upper abs, legs+shoulders+lower abs) x 2. i have been on this programme for the last 1+ yrs, but the results arent that amazing. there must be something that im doing WRONG. HEEELLLLPPPPP….

Hi Joey

Here are my answers :

1. My upper body and lower body are disproportionate, which makes my hips, butt and legs look narrower/thinner than my upperbody. I guess that means, I need to get rid of the flab around my mid section and yet at the same time improve on my butt and thighs and calves, if that is possible.

2. Since, I’ve been working on it for quite a while now, Im quite frustrated that I havent met my goal yet. What with all my colleagues making comments on my narrow hips, small butt and thin legs!!

3. I’d like to look more proportionate. A thinner torso and a better lower body with well rounded, lifted & bigger glutes and toned thighs and visible claves. Then I can start wearing more skirts/dresses and also not feel self concious of being seen in a swim suit

4. I definitely would feel more happy, sexy and attractive and of course confident of my body.

5. I work out every morning for an hour. If time permits I even workout in the evenings for an hour. But thats not often due to paucity of time in the evenings.

Joey, I have ALL your DVDs and Im really working hard to reach my goal. I have to admit that the DVDs have really helped me a lot but Im sure some expert advise from you on how to attain my proportionate form will go a long way in helping me acheive my goal.

I look forward to your helpful hints

Thanks a million

1How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?
A: Wide hips and wide thighs connecting the hips, they look almost like saddle bags. And growing tummy. Visually – I have a small waist and normal shoulder length, but I look very wide at my hips and upper thigh region. Hips also protrude a lot at the back.

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?

Angry at myself, depressed and embarrassed at my physical appearance.

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?

Main goal is to reduce my weight and tone my body, reduce the flab in the lower area. If I do this, then my body will look proportionate and balanced. With it I will feel much lighter and agile, will also give wider choice of clothes along with confidence.

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?

Happy, confident, agile and lighter, and yes it will add to my personality and make me more attractive.

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?

35 minutes thrice a week.

3. I want to keep my curves as I have the potential to have a great figure, If I had a magic wand. I would give it a shake and “poof” I would have a flat stomach lean thighs and a butt to die for. I could wear what I want as they dont make the kind of clothes I like in my sizes, so I have to wear things because they fit, not because they fit my personality. I would feel sexier .

4. If I made the changes I need to I would feel empowered in every area of my life.

1. my thighs, knees & butt; although they’re thinner now after dieting & exercising for 4 months however they’re flabby and loose esp. my inner thighs. my knees need lots of toning, as for my butt it’s rounded and lifted but i would like it to grow smaller

2. uncomfortable and unattractive. i don’t wear shorts & my skirts are always below knee level. certain tight pants show the loose skin and the ‘not so good looking’ knees. i go to the beach but i feel somehow embarrassed from my shape in a swimming suit. im 28 and i feel i have the body of a 50 year old married woman with 4 kids!

3. Firming up, i mean i don’t have to lose extra cm as long as i get rid of the flabby skin and feel the muscles coming to surface. This will really boost my self confidence when i am with my boyfriend and when we go shopping together because he likes buying clothes and he has a great taste in that area

4. All of the above

5. i go to the gym 3 times per week so im willing to give 30 minutes in between OR i can stop going to the gym and stick to home exercise if the results are fascinating

Cheers!

3:my bum, hips, tummy, and thighs would look tonned and defined with out going over the top.

4:this would make me feel happier and more confident knowing that i would be able to fit into any thing and look fab.

5: i am willing to spend 5 – 10 minutes a day or about 30 – 60 minutes a week.

Hey Joey, happy to answer.

1.) my worst parts are probably my lower body and mid section which are some what rounder than they once were!! I have a good basic shape but needs shaping up and could be alot less wobble and dimple!

2.) makes me feel mad at myself for getting like this, i do not recognise the person in the mirror, sad, like i have actually lost bits of my personality as i lost my body. Looks are not everything but its hard to be confident and ready to face the world when u just want to hide.

3.) Goal for lower body, i want to be ripped! Well ok maybe not quite ripped but i want some serious definition like i used to have. Want to bring my micro teeny tiny skirts out of retirement! To be firm and pert and only to have dimples on my face!

4) This would make me feel sexy again and more myself. Having a hot body will not bring me happiness in itself but it will help me get the confidence i need to become happy if that make sense..

5.) willing to workout about 20-30 mins a week

Thats it, hope that helps. Until next time keep smiling be happy xx

Oh my goodness Joey – I hope you’re still awake this far down the page!!
I will try to be brief:

1) Worst spots = butt, area below the butt (fatty like an extra butt!!) and thighs. Cellulite, podgy looking, not a nice shape. Needs work.

2) I feel embarrassed and ashamed of these areas, and try to always keep them covered. Has always been a source of fear with a new boyfriend.

3) Main lower body goal is to get rid of my ‘extra butt’ – the flabby area where my butt joins my thighs, reduce and hopefully eliminate cellulite and lose the extra layers of fat covering to reveal a more natural shape (I’ve seen it before so I know it’s there!). This would make clothes choices infinitely easier and I’d feel more confident and free to wear what I like on the beach and shorts in the summer.

4) Happier, healthier (all that extra flab’s not a sign of optimum health, is it), sexier, confident. A big weight off my mind.

5) I currently do 60 mins a day + walking for 45mins to an hour about 5 times a week. This is manageable and I’m seeing improvement. Yay :-) Need to get started on your DVD though. Not sure why it’s still sitting in the drawer….

Your dedication to solving our body woes is greatly appreciated Joey.
Peace

Hi Joey

Thanks for your concern and here it goes:-)

1. Like most women I would like to work on my lower body. I am 5’2″ and would like to get rid of the flab in my inner thighs. My butt is sagged and would like to firm it up. Though I have been regularly working out I am finding it difficult to shape my legs, hips and butt. I would like to reduce at least 4″ off my hips.
2. Inspite of a lot of efforts, when the results are not happening its frustrating
3. With the magic wand, I will remove all the flab from my body and have a toned and sleek lower body suitable for bikini like a model.
4. It would tremendously improve me to empower and will make me more confident
5. I can and am spending one hour, 7 days a week.

Looking forward for your suggestion and help.

Warm regards

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?

Inner / Outer Thighs, Lower Abdomen. I go between Eliptical and DVD’s for exercise. I feel better about myself when I do, but I can’t loose any of the weight. 180 @ 5’3″ is a bit much.

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?

Sometimes I feel Depressed, sometimes I feel Ugly, Sometimes I feel like what ever I do will never make a difference. Sometimes I feel like I need to just accept how I am and go on. I get tired of hearing all the ads for weight loss. I get so tempted to try just one more…..maybe that one will work. Maybe if I spend 300.00 more on special food and another system…..

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…? Make that my thighs would NOT rub together when I walk and my stomach would be flat, my hips wouldn’t be as wide either. I would be able to wear cute clothes and not get depressed because the pants fit, all except the thighs are too tight.

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?
More confident, higher self-esteem. My fiance would not have to work as hard to build up my esteem.

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…? I have been infatuated with my weight since I was a little girl. In elementary school I was skipping meals and excercising hours a day. I have totally screwed up my metabolism by not eating right all through highschool, but obviously I ate too much because I felt I still had a weight problem. I am 40 now and have finally been able to eat 3 meals a day. Sometimes it’s hard not to skip a meal because I feel too fat that day. I still don’t eat a lot, I don’t feel, but I do try to eat healthy. I work out 30 minutes in the morning, whether it be on the eliptical or doing DVD’s, and then we go on bike rides and walks in the evening, weather permitting. I guess 30 minutes of specific excercise would be what I am willing to do. I am so tired of HAVING to do excercise. I would like to do excercise because it makes me feel better about myself, not because I am trying to loose or change something.

Well to answer to your questions
1) My worst problem is my big thighs and hips and my belly also.
2) They make me feel ugly and as well as embrrassed
3) My main goal would be atleast I reduce my thighs and hips so that i can fit into my old pants and as well as new pants of my choice.
4) Well after these improvements I would feel happy, confident and might be attractive.
5) Well for all these I can devote 35mins- 70mins.
Well I hope I can see some changes in me after you give some solutions when you read my answers.

1. Worst body part: My butt because it stcks out (no mater how thin I am) and rounded thighs. Last year I gained two dress sizes when I quite smoking, so now I’ve got more cellulite. Oh, and I’m always bloated!

2. I feel unhappy with my body at the moment and a bit self-conscious.

3. I would like to only have less thighs, butt and cellulite, but also for my legs to be straighter, and for my butt to be flatter.

4. If this were the case, I would feel sexier and more confient when facing the world and dealing with people. Most importantly though, I would feel better about myself.

5. I would dedicate up to one hour a day on exercising. Probably more if I could REALLy get the body of my dreams! At the moment, I work out to dvds for a maximum of 1hour 3 times a week.

Hello Joey,
1. My worst area is my abdominal area the area near my naval has been reduced in size (Thanks to great workout program) but now the skin sags :( looks unattrative) I still have a bit of a small pooch in the lower ab area under the naval. The other area is my backs of my legs….dimples I have been told I don’t have dimples but I sure see them when I look in the mirror!! And that is what matters.
2. Looking in the mirror I do not feel confident to wear certain articles of clothing.
3. If I could make a change I’d tighten the skin around my naval and reduce the fat in the lower area of my abdominal. And get rid of the dimples on the backs of my legs.
4. I would then be able to wear dresses that are fitted and tops that are fitted, but for now it looks like I am smuggling something under my clothes. lol
5. I am a very active individual so I would do whatever it takes to get the body I long for.

1) – From my perspective, the only problem spot I have is my stomach. It is not flabby, but there is fat which I have come to call a “pooch”. It is never ever just FLAT; even in the morning, there is a slight protrusion of fat.

2) – The previously mentioned problem spot that is my stomach makes me feel: embarassed, I refuse to wear bikinis; ugly, especially when I see other women who have flat stomachs; angry, when exercise doesn’t change anything.

3) – My main goal for my lower body would really just be lifting my butt. It’s lovely as it is, but I feel as if it’s gone a bit saggy. It wouldn’t overall change many other aspects of my life or relationships, but I would feel more confident wearing jeans.

4) – After these improvements, I would feel happy with the results, empowered that I was the one who created the results, and confident because I finally feel attractive.

5) – I’m willing to devote time every other day for home exercise for as long as it takes. I actually do home exercise every other day for about an hour or so. I usually do a pilates ab workout for 30 minutes, and then overall strength training for 35 minutes.

Here are my answers:

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?

Answer: Definitely my butt, thighs and the section between my butt & legs. I have a job that requires sitting at a desk for 9-10 hours everyday, so I do not get a lot of movement or excersize during the daytime.

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel?

Answer: Embarrassed, self conscious, upset – I’ve been so busy and let myself go.

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life?

Answer: I want to tone my entire lower body – I need some serious improvement/help sculpting my butt, thighs and legs. By doing this it would build back my confidence (especially in a swimsuit).

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?

Answer: I would be feel very proud of myself for accomplishing this goal. I want to feel sexy & confident that I look good in a swimsuit again or any clothing for that matter. I just want to feel good about myself and know that I am healthy and in shape.

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?

Answer: I am willing to do whatever it takes. I will work daily for as long as it takes to attain this goal of sculpting my lower body. I love being active & I am when I have the time. I have early mornings and evening that I can workout.

Thank you~

1. I am Asian American and generally slender (5′ 7″ and 118 lbs) but I have two problem areas: (1) My thighs tend to carry any excess fat. My upper thighs, both the inner and backside, need slimming and toning. (2) My chest needs to come out more. I don’t believe these problems warrant plastic surgery so any help by natural means is appreciated.
2. It makes me feel frustrated as it is a constant battle. I eat a very healthy diet of about 80% raw foods (no eggs or dairy, no meat except for fish) and work out every day, but I am a professional that spends over 8 hours per day working at my computer.
3. My goal is to have a toned more shapely butt and toned and slender legs. I want to get rid of excess fat. I don’t like to see any sag in my butt or ripples on the backside of my upper thighs. This wouldn’t affect my relationship that much as my husband is very sweet and loves my body the way it is. He is already very complimentary about it. However, more importantly I am not happy about it because I know it can be improved. If I achieved my goals, I would definitely feel more confident while wearing shorts and bikinis.
4. I would feel more confident and happy about myself. I think it would set a good example for my two daughters that women can take care of their health and remain fit even after having children. Having kids makes it so much harder for women but it should not be a reason for not taking care of ourselves.
5. 30 – 60 min a day

1. The “worst”/ “biggest problem” area in my physical appearance (as I see me)… is “inches”… I have “inches” where I do not want them… “Inches” on my stomach, “Inches” on my butt, thigh(s), “Inches” on my upper arms. Darn these Inches! And as I see it, these 3 areas (mid, upper, and lower), EQUALLY host these inches in a way that I feel as problematic.

2. The impact of these areas have been factors contributing to a NEGATIVE self image… from “worth” to “visual”. As I see these areas, I am appalled by my own appearance. Showering in the dark, wearing clothing to hide, and avoiding intimacy. The gravity of such disgust with self (again, for me) is equally, in the mind destructive, as it is to my physical health.

3. Magic Wand: “Remove, cast off, the unwelcome inches. Firm and tone, leaving nothing alone, till what I see is, as I need… a healthy, beautiful view of me”.
Size terms: waist 25.5″ hips 35″ and 8.5 inches per upper arm area…

4. After accomplishing these things, I can hope that I would feel more “me” in my own skin. Less ashamed; more confident, beautiful, sexy, excited about getting dressed (and undressed for that matter), Free to move.

5. Physical training time: 75 min (at least) every other day + caloric awareness… keeping within my target area (at least 6 days a week)… with a goal of moving into 7 days without even being aware…
I am making lifestyle changes… as I have worked towards this for SO long with little to show but a great deal of emotional fatigue… Time to make CHANGE and see the result I need.

Hi Joey,

I am a very slim petit person. My problems spots would be my glutes need building, butt needs to lift and lower legs need to build a little, don’t want to look like a body builder, just toned.

Well, I am a true Trini, I love my carnival and this requires skimpy bikinis with beads.. So I’m a bit conscious of the areas I want toned…

Toning and building my legs would make me more comfortable in shorts and skirts. I’m only 28 and don’t wear those in public, except for the beach or carnival.

After you help me look the way I want, I won’t be hiding in jeans or cargo pants any more :)

I love working out cause I feel so much healthier so I can devote howerver long it takes , however, I lose weight very easily. This is my problem with going to a gym. Most instructors recommend cardio for about 15-20 mins, then machines to build my legs, but recently, it’s not working, I just lose weight and get really toned abs….. which i love of course, who wouldn’t?

If you can help me, would be great!!!

Thanks again,
Heather-Dawn :)

I am a 5’2 petite 35 yr old mother of 2 teenagers and have always had a problem with SOME cellulite on my butt and back/side of my thighs. However about 3-4 yrs ago I started noticing the cellulite starting looking more like craters and has now moved down to my knees. I feel I’m starting to get sagging arms and a little flabby belly as well.

I have tried and tried different programs, dvds video’s, machines and end up angry, then depressed and then low self-confidence because after about 3-4 weeks of not noticing anything I stop.
I try not to wear too many shorts or skirts which never used to be me. I used to swim almost everyday and now you wouldn’t catch me in a suit.

I would love to have a tight, toned and lifted butt again along with toned thighs about 1/2 the size they are now! A tighter tummy and arms would be great, but my lower 1/2 has always made me feel bad about my looks.

I would feel healthier, happier about myself than I have in a long time, attractive, sexy, confident and proud of following through and proud of taking care of me the way I should have a long time ago.

I am determined to do whatever it takes, 30 minutes, 70 minutes, I want to do this and will find the time.

I order the dvd package and very excited for it to be delivered!

What would you recommend for me in the meantime?

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!

hi joey

1. i have small no hips and a small bum, all muscle tone has been lost last few years (particularly in my thighs) and replaced with cellulite. also my hip bones stick out – no fat goes to that area. when im naked you can see my curves but in clothes, even tight clothes i look so shapeless. now 22, i dont feel my age because i dont look it – still have girly figure and want a womanly one!

2. this makes me feel too skinny and boney, unattractive and unwomanly which makes me embarrased and depressed.

3. main goal for my lower lower body isto get it curvy and toned. this would make getting dresssed much easier – i always feel too skinny and feel i look like a little girl or something. it would also have a mojor impact on my self confidence – i would go out more – less to worry about what to wear and what i look like in it. my relationship with my boyfriend would also be improved.

4. i would feel more motivated in many areas of life, attractive and womanly and confident.

5. i am willing to devote 30 mins – 1 hours everyday to every other day to achive my goals. i just need to know what to do!

1. My legs have been giving me tough time since my late teens. At the moment, I hate probably most my dimply and often swollen calfs and the fat deposits around my knees. Well the the sunken area on my left thigh asa result of a many-years-ago liposuction isn’t the favourite part of myself, either.
2. I have been obsessed with- and depressed by them all my life, which makes me angry because I could spend the time much more effectively than torturing myself with the same thoughts over and over.
3. The magical wand would make my legs look just comfortable for me as well as the other to look at and in proportion with the rest of my body. They would’n have to be gorgeous or “die-for-legs” ;they would only need to loose dimples; shake off the unbecoming fat; and show off the muscles, which stay in hiding despite my physical ctivities. Well, and if the above mentioned “hole” in my thigh also disappeared…
4. I would get the load of my mind and devote the time gained to something more useful and pleasant than brooding over ugly legs ofmine. I could wear shorts and nice summer dresses that don’t “sweep” the sidewalk. Most importantly, I would feel much more confident in my new relationship and actually, this is the only thing that really matters to me considering the whole issue. Simply, life would become much brighter but don’t get me wrong, Joey – I love it anyway!
5. Up to an hour a day as long as it really works.

1) My worst problem spots I think are my thighs and butt area…I lost about 60 pounds in 2 weeks about a year ago and it DEFINATELY shows the most there. : /

2) These areas make me feel big a clunky around others. I feel fat and nasty…I am 6’1 as it is…I don’t need this flab to make me feel any bigger then everyone else lol.

3) I would have toned legs and a toned buttox…this would make my relationship with my boyfriend better because I wouldn’t be NEARLY as self concious and I would also feel more comfortable wearing the little shorts and skirts he likes haha!

4) I would feel happy, confident, sexy…I would feel GREAT!!

5) I am willing to devote some time to this. I am constantly running around these days for work, I don’t have a set schedule so it couldn’t be a LONG time, but my main problem is sticking to it. SOmething always comes up that I have ot run out and do and I am not home for the rest of the day and there goes any progress I might have made.

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?
I hate my legs- they are full of cellulite, flabby, big and pale- i also have stretch marks on both my thigh and bum.
2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?
They make me feel upset and wishful.
3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?
I generally do not wear really short shorts because of my large legs and strech marks. I also cannot wear a swimming costume without feeling concious.
4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc,
I would feel confident, happy.
5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?
I am willing to devote 1 hour per day at least.

1. My butt and upper thighs are dimply, but not quite cellulite yet. Also, my abs are starting to look a little flabby, and I have practically NO calf muscles at all! =[ Let's just say, I'm lacking tone.
2.I feel very self concious in my bikini, because when I was younger, I was the epitamy of perfection, and now that my body is maturing, I'm feeling old and lazy. It really is embaressing.
4. My magic wand would just tone up my whole entire lower half! I'm naturally a very slender person, with just a little problematic areas, so nothing would really change except my confidence. =]
5. I can devote about 20-30 min a day on workouts. Like I said, though, I’m not really having any major issues that would require a lot of time and effort.

1. My problem area? mid thigh up to mid stomache. I have great arms, decent legs from mid thigh down, decent upper abs. All through the mid section is horrible. Butt is flabby and a bit dimply. Shape is there (decent in jeans) but man I want it to be tight and toned like the rest of me.
2. Makes me feel really unattractive, I wear long T-shirts to cover this area. It’s a bummer.
3. I want to be toned and tight everywhere ! I’d love to be able to feel good in cute, sexy little undies and shorts. Short tops with my jeans.
4. If I could get there, I’d feel terrific! My wardrobe would change and I’d probably throw away my long shirts…ha ha ha. How fun would that be?
5. I currently work out at least 3 times a week. Walk constantly (my job) and would love to say everyday @ an hour. Realistically I can probably do 30 minutes a day.

3.I am 37yrs.old, 5’4″,170lbs.,in a size 12 pants. I would wave that wand & make me into a size4,115-120lbs. again!!!! My abs would be tight, lean & flat,my thighs would be lean, strong & not rub together,my upper arms would be lean & ready to wear ANY tank top & look good,my neck would thin, lean & no double chin(my face would not be so round & be more contoured!)!!!!!!!! people wouldnt think I’m older than what I am!!!!!

Hi Joey,

Here’s my answers to your questions:

1. My legs and bottom are my worst areas. I’m getting bad celluilte, and when they look like Jell-O when they move which ever way!

2. I feel unhealthy, and embarrassed. I don’t want to wear shorts and a bathing suit during the summer time!

3. I want to get rid of the fat, celluite, and build muscle to make me look lean and sexy. But I do have a lot of muscle in my legs, I’ve always have. Strong legs as well. I also want to tone up my bottom too.

4. I like to work out 4-5 days a week, about 30 minutes a day. I’m already excersising, but I need motivation and advise on how to tone up my lower body.

Thank you so much!

1. How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?: I would like to tone my upper arms and they are becoming slimmer! My chest is starting to lift again, so I am happy about that. I would like to lose more weight from my back, arms, shoulders, belly [I have a belly], booty, waist, hips, and thighs. Basically, all over!

2. How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarassed, ugly, etc?: I am actually happy that I am doing something about it. I know that my efforts are beginning to pay off and they will continue. I am actually a very confident person and I am not trying to lose weight for vanity reasons. I am trying to lose weight for my health but, obviously, my appearance is improving and I am happy about that, too! =] I think that I am a very pretty girl.

3. What is the main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magical wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc.?: The main goals for my lower body are to tone and firm my belly, lose weight from my hips, waist, and thighs. I would also love to tone my booty. I would like to have dancers legs, just a bit of junk in da trunk, and, overall, being a curvalicious girl. I do not want to be some unhealthy, morbidly sick stick figure. That would be just awful. I hate speaking on vanity, because this is really not why I am trying to lose weight. It is definitely a benefit, but people seem to always become frustrated for reasons, such as they are not seeing physical changes fast enough, etc. I am primarily concerned about my health and this propels me to continue on with my brand new life style change. I actually am taking pride in myself for this and I only hope to be an inspiration to others. I must say that it will be easier purchasing clothes! lol It can be really tough going to stores and not finding your size or, rather, finding your size and the clothes are either too mature [I am 22 years old and I do not want to look like an elderly person] or they are just too gaudy. I consider myself to be very fashionable and I do not accept such gaudy clothing in my wardrobe. As far as relationships, I would feel a bit more attractive to the opposite sex. I have loads of confidence and personality right now and I think that I am very beautiful, but it would be wonderful to look more sexier in lingerie. I would love to be more confident in bathing suits, too! =] Umm…as far as relationships, I feel that a man should love me for who I am. Sadly, the world seems to be based on vanity…I would not change my appearance for a man. That is my choice and my choice only. A man could never tell me what to do. He should love me as I am, no matter what weight I may be.

4. How would you “feel” after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc.?: Of course, I would feel incredibly happy and exhilarated. I will feel as if I could accomplish anything. I already feel happy, sexy, attractive, and confident lol Geez…I also feel empowered, but I am sure I will feel more empowered when I complete my goals.

5. How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc., etc.?: I am willing to spend as long as it takes [every day] to reach my goals. Typically, I work out for 45 minutes with my cardio routine 7 days a week and I work on my tummy and booty routines. After those 45 minutes of cardio, I lose track of the time and just work and work and work. I actually enjoy working out, so I just don’t slap a timeframe on it. It is ME time and that is the best thing of all! =]

*Keep up the excellent work everybody! We can do this together and many of you inspire me! Joey, you are an inspiration! I like these truth questions. It opens your eyes to what you need to be doing and it is motivation to continue on with your goals. Thanks for the inspiring exercise! =D You all rock!? Hugs, Michie

1.My whole body needs to be reshaped.my big fat thighs(esp:inner thighs) flat butt ,big arms, big tummy.and also i need to lift my chest.not to mention the cellilute on my thighs.

2.i feel embrassed and some times ugly.

3.i would want a bigger firm butt.and ESPECIALLY slimmer thighs+inner thighs,i have a narrow waist compared to my body.and since my thighs are so fat its really difficult to find a pair of jeans.and that is really embrassing.i would love to wear a tight pair of jeans.i would also like to vainsh my side muscles that bulges if i wear a tight top.All in all i want a slimmer toned body.with no cellilute.(like big firm butt, firm upper body and a flat stomach, sweet dreams huh? i knw i knw.)

4.and if by some miracle that happens it would boost my self confidence.that would make me feel beautiful and sexy.

5.i am currently going for aerobics and is losing weight.1 hr every alternative days.i am prepared to do exercise daily 1 hr.ive got a busy schedule.

1) Thighs, belly, butt and my legs! (Mostly the lower body)

2) I feel embarrassed because most of my friends are skinny or well, they have a great body.

3) My butt sticks out. A lot of my friends commented that it’s looks alright but I strongly feel that it’s disproportionate to my upper body. Whenever I buy pants, the sales person will be shocked at the size I requested. It really upsets me. Other than that I’d love to have a toned butt. Secondly I want to get rid of the love handles and my thighs to be smaller. I hate it when the two thighs rub together. It’s really discomforting. Thirdly, the belly – It’s really embarrassing. My tummy will be so huge even when I eat just a little bit. Do you have any exercises that I can do so my tummy will be flat and toned? Fourthly, it’s my legs! I was active two years ago and I did lots of running. Now that I’ve stopped, I feel as though that my legs are huge. The calves. I feel that my calves are flabby. Even when I’m active 2 years ago, my legs look like Serena Williams. (maybe not so much, but still) I’m not sure if that has got to do with lots of running but I’d really like my legs to be like Maria Sharapova or Ana Ivanovic (the tennis stars) I really hope that you can help me out on that as a lot of people have commented on my legs being ‘huge’.

I have bought your leg, butt, hip and thigh DVD (the first edition) but I’m sure you can advice more on the problems I’m facing right now.

4) No doubt, I’d feel more confident and happy. More importantly, I’d not feel inferior to others as I have always felt all this while.

5) I’d devote as long as it takes to see the improvements.

Thank you so much Joey. I’ll be waiting for your response. :)

1. My worst problem areas are my legs and arms. They are too big, and my legs have cellulites.
2. I feel fat, and out of shape, embarrassed and depressed. I don’t like taking pictures because of that.
3. I would tone down my legs and make them slimmer and firmer and cellulite free.
4. I would feel younger and happier and definitely more confident!
5. I currently dedicate 30 mins. – 1hr. five days per week. I am definitely willing to dedicate that time.

1. My butt, gut, thighs, arms & boobs are problem areas. It’s easy to see me coming & going –at the same time! My thighs chafe when I do my walking circuit, and my boobs, well, they point south instead of west. And my arms, they don’t just have woggles, they flap! I’m surprised that I can’t fly. 2. I feel like ugh. but I have started a walking program. 3. My calves are fantastic, so I wouldn’t change that. I would like my thighs to be lean-no more chafe when I walk. Re-figurilng my figure would really help in my relationships because I would feel so much better prhysically & emotionally. Plus, I would finally be able to wear the style of clothes that appeal to me, rather than those that conceal me. 4. I would definitely feel sexyl, (think sexy too), and empowered. I would feel that I hold my own, as it were. That I no longer take a back seat to anybody. 5. I already commit 2 hours, five days a week to my walking program. I walk a six-mile circuit–round trip. I am working on cutting the time it takes me to walk it. (One of my goals is to enter half-marathons). In addition to thisl, I would like to add some weight training, and some yoga or something in order to increase my flexibility and range of motion. I ‘m 53 years old and would like to have even better mobilliy in my 90’s than I have right now; so I would be willing to add some form of exercise in the early evenings.at least 39-60 minutes. I have been walking for about 5 weeks, and can tell that I need to do additional stuff in order to get the physical condition ( and figure) that I want.

1. My thighs are a little on the chunky side, my triceps need more toning, and I have a protruding tummy

2. Depressed and slightly embarrassed

3. Flatter tummy, arms and legs toned – skin to be more firner as it looks wrinkly on the inside of the arms

4. More confident

5. I work out at the gym 3 or 4 times a week for 2 hours – one hour cardio one hour weights (machines as I can never get on the free weights as the gym is so busy) concentrating on my legs and arms.

My routine is:

Cardio varies between 1/2 hour rowing machine 15 minutes bike and 15 minutes rowing arm machine or I might change this round to 1/2 hour bike 15 minutes rowing machine always do 15 minutes arm machine.

Weights: Outer and Innter thigh machine do 200 reps each, leg extension front and back 100 reps each, leg press 100 hundred normal squat position, 100 with feet pointing outwards heels together like a pile squat which trains the inner thighs.

Arms: Lat pull down 100, tricep push down 100, arms extended out fully 100

My goal is to achieve a more toned body especially my arms and middle section – my legs are slowly toning although they are still chunky there is less fat on the front of them than previous.

Joey if you have any suggestions to alter my programme which in turn will lead me to a more toned body I would be most welcome.

2. It makes me feel angry, because I do work out at least an hour every day, and right now am battling Planter Faciatis in my left foot because of running, and now cannot not run!! Which makes me feel worse.
3. If I had a magic wand I would remove the fat, and have nicely toned legs and rear
4. I would feel confident and empowered
5. Well like I mentioned previously, I am working out at least an hour a day, and I do watch what I eat – not a red meat eater – organic, etc. No High Fructose Corn Syrup or Partially Hydrogenated oils either!

3. I would definitely get rid of all the cellulite, and I would have tone muscles all over: my calves, quads, hamstrings, etc. I would finally be able to wear a skirt and a bathing suit without feeling like everyone was looking at my disgusting legs.
4. I would feel a lot more sexy and athletic.
5. I used to work out in the gym for almost 2 hours 5 days a week. So, I would have to say an hour 4-5 days a week.

1. My worst problem is my belly fat. Also the bra bulge at the back when I wear a close fitting top.
2. It make me feel mostly frustrated and less than attractive of course. But I am determined to overcome this obstacle.
3.Lower body – if I had a magic wand I would tighten up the buns and trim the belly. I would ideally be able to tuck in my shirts and look more tailored in my clothes instead of so casual, with always loose tops. And my back would be trim with no bulges.
4.I would feel absolutely incredible! I would be able to wear anything and always look great. It would make me feel younger. I would be more flexible without the belly fat in the way when I exercise. It would give me a new lease on life, as I am somewhat distressed about reaching 60 and I don’t feel 60 at all. I can’t do anything about my age, but I can do something about how I look and feel!
5. I would devote at least 30 minutes a day plus a walk. I already do an hour class of Ball Fusion a week, 3 Tai Chi sessions a week (1 hour each) and walk a couple of times. Plus I usually do some fun activity like laying patio stones and gardening.

I feel like wearing a moo moo or something else just as hideous! My worst area is my lower stomach altho I have lost up to 24 kilo my stomach looks terrible (Jelly belly) also my inner thighs need tightening and my butt needs more muscle on it as I have a small flat one. This makes me feel very unattractive and altho I have lost quite a bit of weight I still have a long way to go.I have found that since winter has come it is harder to exercise and I often feel down as I feel like I have lost my motivation.
My goal would be to have a flat tight stomach and an all over firmer body this would give me the confidence to at least like myself.
I would be happy to spend at least 30 mins a day to acheive this

1- definately lower body – I am actually thin on top but from the belly button down no so great ! (thigh, hip and but)

2- definately ugly and embarrased !!!

3- I would tone my entire lower body – I wont wear shorts other than like bermudas – or mini skirts because of my thighs – i do go to the beach alot and wear skirts over my bathing suits alot –

4- I would have more confidence in several aspects of life !!!

5- Well I used to devote ALOT of time about 5-6 hours a week – hired a trainer and all – really didnt see much change – I have definately gotten slack and I have told myself for about a month know I have to get back in the groove !!!!!! So I am willing !!!! I think I got frustrated with my results and kind of slacked off !

I also dont eat red meat, drink lots of water, eat lots of fresh fish (my husband fishes off shore ALOT) always have fresh mahi, wahoo, and tuna – i love vegetables and my weakness is CARBS!!!!! And I actually eat the GOOD carbs short grain REAL brown rice, organic Whole grain bread and the whoe 9 yards – So whats your ADVICE ????????

2. Physically uncomfortable, feet hurt
3. Main goal is to retrain myself to live a more healthy lifestyle regarding food I put into my body, the amount of physical exercise I partake in & reduce stress/excess baggage from my life. A magic wand would eliminate 50 lbs worth of FAT off the middle of my body. I know I have solid muscles under there because I do enjoy using physical strength. I would be able to get back into a closetful of attractive clothes that I haven’t been able to get into in years, and I would have much more stamina for search & rescue work that I do.
4. I am hoping to feel MORE of everything you’ve listed. I don’t beat myself up, emotionally, for having become much more overweight … but I know I definitely don’t feel good & it’s time to change!
5. 30-70 min every day plus dietary changes.

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…? All of them
3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…? I would like a tight butt and nice toned legs
4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…? Yes I would be so much HAPPIER.
5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…? Can it be done in 20 minutes 5 days a week or do I need to do more. I will if I need to.

Please answer truthfully because I have read so many articles that say you can not get rid of cellutlite once it is on your body. Is it harder for a smaller person to get rid of it??? My boyfiend does not like my legs or butt.
Thanks for your help

1. Problem spot: FUPs (fat upper knees) GROSS, some cellulite, not as lean as I would like!
2. I feel embarrassed about these FUPs feel that everyone is looking at them!
3. Goal: to get rid of the FUPs, lingering cellulite and lean out. I rarely get into a swimsuit infront of friends. If i’m at the beach or pool, I don’t get up and walk around without a wrap. I tend to wear clothes that fall at the knee and the kicker in all this is that I am thin!
4. I would feel much better about myself, happier, self confident, sexy.
5. I currently devote approx. 70 min+m 6 days a week to exercise. For me the difficulty is keeping up the eating plan that works for me! I have not been as dedicated as I know I must be in order to improve. The exercise plan has gotten me pretty far, but to go all the way, the rest is the eating habits.

1 – How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?
My worst problem spots are my thunder things , a relatively flatter butt . My petite built makes my thighs/pelvic girdle look bigger than they actually are. I tend to lose fat easily as my body is made os soft fat. But, with exercises ,i lose fat elsewhere and not in my problem area. That make me look very heavy on the lower side.

2 – How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?

A deadly combination of all the above.

3 – What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?

It will give me a wider range of clothes to fit in, will surely boost up my confidence about my image and also make me feel stronger than before with well toned muscles.

4 – How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?
Happy, Confident and less conscience about my thighs.

5 – How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?

How would you describe your worst problem spots, from a physical, visual perspective?
I am naturally a thin person but I have very skinny legs (tiny ankles and calves), a flat butt and worst of all, cellulite on both. My hips are wider than my thighs making my frame look unbalanced. I am 27 and look like i have the body of a 13 year old.

How do these problem areas make you feel? Angry, depressed, fearful, embarrassed, ugly, etc…?
Unfortunately all of the above.

What is your main goal for your lower body? If you could wave a magic wand over your entire lower body area – What would it look like and what would it mean to other aspects of your life? As in relationships, choice of clothes, etc, etc…?
My goal for my lower body is to have thin legs but a healthy looking thin, not anorexic looking. It would change my entire life by giving me the confidence to wear shorts, short skirts and bikini’s instead of hiding my body in fear of people making fun of me. I would also enjoy my vacations instead of looking at other woman and wishing I had their legs and body. I would also feel more comfortable and confident in front of my husband and not fear that he wants another woman because she has a better body.

How would you then ‘feel’ after these improvements? Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, etc, etc…?
I would feel like a million bucks. Definitely happier, sexy, attractive, confident and have healthy self esteem which would allow me to get rid of my lifelong anxiety (due to low self esteem issues).

How much time are you willing to devote, daily or every other day, to a home exercise routine in order to achieve your most coveted lower body improvement goals? 20 minutes, 35 minutes, 70 minutes, etc, etc…?
I would devote 30 mins every other day to improve my lower body. I have spent months in the gym and year after year have made it my goal to gain muscle and build my lower body but have failed and given up hope.

1) My worst spots are my thighs, hips and the cheeks of the buttocks. I need to lift a little my buttocks too.
2) They make me feel less confident and I cant wear everything i like.
3) If I could wave a magic wand I would make my legs slightly slimmer, loose2 inches from my hips and have a bit of a smaller buttocks with a bit of a lift to be totally proportionate with top part of my body.
4)I would surely acquire more confidence and be happier with how I look especially when buying clothes.
5) I already go for a jog or fast walking 4-5 times a week and sometimes I also do some exercises in the evening so I am ready to dedicate time for exercise!

I’d say my worst spots are my inner thighs.
… which really is a downer because it is bikini season, and i feel sooooo embarrassed to go the beach.
My main goal is to get slim, toned looking legs, and get a tighter bum. i have a lot of clothes, but cant wear them anymore becuase i feel so ugly and fat in them, so I’d definately wear those if i could.
I’d feel more confident and sexier.
Right now I work out approximately half an hour a day (but my thighs and butt are STILL huge)! I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of these problem areas that I have (for what seems like forever)Please help! xx

1. My worst problem is the above my waist line its like having a “michelline” all the time attached to me.

2 – It makes me feel very “self-conscious” of the way I look, and sometimes depressed, and in a sense also puts more pression on me as I have to always look pretty (face-wise). I have very healthy skin but if just one, only one tiny pimple appears on my face, I really feel down cause then I’d go “my only attractive “visual” feature is gone”… silly me!! I know.

3 – My main goal is to loose all the fat around my wais, and get strong and flat abs. Better than getting new sexy clothes I would like to wear my old ones, that dont fit anymore. And it will definitely help me to be more confident, therefore my relatioship and my life in general will benefit.

4. I will feel absolutely wonderful!!

5 . 35 min a day!

2 – uncomfortable, sad because of fitting badly in certain clothes, frustrated and irritated. I have no mirror in my bedroom

3 – I wanted to louse volume and cellulite. I would wear more skirts, be more confident and be more relaxed when i´m with other people because of the gained selfconfidence

4 – Happy, sexy, attractive, empowered, confident, and preparede to use the power of attraction when everything else fails :)

5 – 35 minutes

1. My worst problem areas are butt and thighs. I can’t get rid of the cellulite completely & I’ll only wear shorts that cover my thighs.

2 – I feel self conscious and I don’t have the confidence to wear a bathing suit in public… unless I figure I’ll probably never see those people again!

3 – I want to be cellulite-free… tight, tone, sexy! At 42, sometimes I feel like I’ve missed the boat on ever looking like that.

4 – After these improvements, I think I’d feel more attractive and confident. My husband says I look great the way I am, but I feel he’s just used to the way I look, so why change?

5 – I’m willing to devote 45-60 minutes daily. I always start out great, then just fizzle out. My motivation drops and then I look back and I’ve gone another week without exercising at all… outside of my regular day to day crazy working-mom duties, that is.

Hi Joey,

I am going out on a limb… little nervous here. #1 one thing is i am getting over plantar fascists and have now gained 15 pounds trying to get this sucker to heal in both my feet. Here i go…

1 – My butt has always been large but now it is large and extremely bumpy, my legs have gotten very large and i know have a gut…Disgusting. my arms now have weight i swear it happened after i turned 30. Visually i would like to slim down (30 pounds)and have an ass and legs in shape. I want tha muscle at the back of my thigh to be strong again and in shape.

2 – \i feel disgusting and embarrassed. I feel like i have lost hope of getting back in shape. frustrated and feel that i start to make a weight of a couple pounds and freak out like i can’t do it and self sabatoge.\i feel unattractive and anxious about going out but i have to i am a single mom and a student.

3 – I want energy up more and happier. Make my lower body in shape and smaller.I understand i am curvy totally ok with that want to be a size 8 and 135 pounds. wear fun clothes not just have to clothes. I want to be a yummy mommy again!!

4 – I feel like myself again. I do not feel like myself. I would feel more in control of everything going on, more focused on finishing school (last year) and ready for the job market and be ready for my wedding.

5 – 45 min to 1 hour for cardio 5 times a week. maybe even more depending on weather as i will be biking 3 times a week on top of it to school. weights 3 times a week and yoga and pilates alternating 7 times a week.

feedback would be great i am trying to start running again and have an elliptical at home .

thank you

Erin

1. The area where my butt and upper thighs meet,(and the glutes} The outside area of my thighs. The area above my knees. And last but not least, my calves.

2. I feel angry with myself because I know I’m the one responsible for my body, and it’s progress with exercise. I also feel sad because I know I put so much of myself into it and get little to no results.

3. Take away the bulkiness of my legs, LEAN down my knees and calves, and suck the fat out of my J-LO butt. But most of all, I would get rid of the cellulite from thigh to ankle.

4. I would feel less stressed, because I care what I think about my body more than what other people think. I always get the “you look great” and yet, I know they either have really low standards of what fit looks like, or they are just being nice. I would where more shorter hem dress and skirts (as long as they are in style) and I would wear more heels to show off my calves.

5.I already devote over 2 hours 2-3 days a week doing the ULHTB workout, and 45 min of aerobic activity 3 days a week. It takes too much time away from my family and 3 little girls, but I’m afraid to cut back. Maybe I should cut back on eating, though I don’t do a lot of that either. I have been really at it for 4 months now, results…. YES, but not from above my knees through my ankles…started to jump rope 2,000 – 3,000 jumps 2-3 times a week in hopes to trim the calf area, I just feel like I’m doing too much…..

Your mini meals and the right amount of protien, carbs and vegetables makes a world of difference in your
outlook of yourself. Don’t give up! You are beautiful no matter what they say! Hey isn’t that a song? Ok you cheat a day or a night, get back on that horse. Go for a walk. Do the leg exercises in his emails. I have faith in all you women out there. You will overcome……….
